Kerala local body polls phase 2: 5.99% polling recorded in first hour

KOCHI: Brisk polling was recorded in the first one hour on Thursday in five districts which are witnessing second phase of Kerala local body elections.A total of 5.99% voting was recorded for the districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Wayanad which began at 7am. In Ernakulam district, the polling percentage at 8am stood at 6.38% while for the Kochi corporation the percentage was 5.07%. In Thrissur district, a polling percentage of 6.78 was recorded in the first hour while for the urban local body of Thrissur corporation the figure was 5.83%.Polling percentage for other districts were-- Kottayam (7.11%), Palakkad (5.91%) and Wayanad (6.11%).
